The Too Clever Sarid

Yossi Sarid, a former chairman of the Higher Education Council, wrote in the Haaretz newspaper on Thursday:

“Thanks to [Mr Barak], we will have the only university in the free world whose founders and owners are uniformed officers.”

That is plainly stupid.

All the army did was authorize the recognition of the Ariel University as per the direction of the Defense Minister.

Sarid is too clever for our own good.

As for the University, judge for yourself.

Was At The David Bar-Illan Conference on Media & The Middle East

The Ariel University Center conducts an annual conference on the Media and the Middle East in memory of David Bar-Ilan, Jerusalem Post editor and author of the "Eye on the Media" columns (and book).

So, we were at Ariel yesterday.

Douglas Feith spoke via a videophone hook-up (or however it's called) and among the other speakers was Dr. Uzi Landau, President of Israel's Media Watch:
