Another Unpublished Letter to the Editor of the NYTimes

Yonaton Youval seeks to vilify Israel's Prime Minister Binyamin Netanayahu in his opinion piece  ("Israelis Are Exhausted. There Is a Way Out.," Oct. 4). Inter alia, he writes, cryptically, "The emergency of 1948 is older than Mr. Netanyahu and will outlast him," a strange analysis conclusion given Youval's ideological stance.

In any case, as for being exhausted, former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert infamously noted back in 2005, "We are tired of fighting...we are tired of winning". Two decades later and there are still slogans that never seem to outlast Netanyahu's critics.
