Interesting to see this original description of Montefiore's Windmill as "the first and only one in the Holy City" on page 8. It was erected "for grinding corn" and perhaps we might infer local grains such as barley, wheat, spelt, rye, etc. also?
The windmill's cost "and appurtenances" on page 11 is 1859 lbs 16s 6d. For comparison, that's $2448 in USD at today's currency exchange rate.
