Netanyahu asks Obama to pardon Pollard

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent a letter to US President Barack Obama asking him to pardon Jonathan Pollard who is jailed in the US for espionage. Netanyahu is slated to read the letter at a Knesset plenum discussion later on Tuesday.

So, he seems to have done what I asked about.
