Here's The "Left" For You

"Defining the occupying state as the owner of "state lands" on the West Bank has been the greatest tragedy of generations" is what Yitzhak Laor thinks (and I use that term generously).

Now, why did Israel do that?

Well, international law.

The League of Nations decided

ART. 6. The Administration of Palestine, while ensuring that the rights and position of other sections of the population are not prejudiced, shall facilitate Jewish immigration under suitable conditions and shall encourage, in co-operation with the Jewish agency referred to in Article 4, close settlement by Jews on the land, including State lands and waste lands not required for public purposes.

That land, besides our historical claim, belongs to we Jews.

No state exited there prior to 1967 with a legitimate legal claim and that includes the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan which illegally occupied the area.
