The International Conference on 'Connecting the Nation of Israel, in Israel and Abroad and Momentum in the face of government decrees' was held on January 7th at Havat Gilad – Gilad Farm – in the Shomron. The line up of speakers was impressive – and the tent erected at Havat Gilad was packed with people from all over the country as well as the sponsors of the Australian Friends of Gush Katif and Shomron. The message was clear – the Land of Israel belongs to the people of Israel and our enemy in these days is not primarily the Arabs but rather the Leftist Jews and their supporters within and without the Land.

UPDATE
Here.
The organizers erred a bit.
a) A mistake in the programming. Seems the open mic was a postscript of the event, to permit the participants to freely exchange ideas. There should have been a distinct separation of sections, maybe taking a break and ushering out journalists before starting the second session.
b) And there was a mistake in not closing the session to journalists.
c) I would have tried stress to the reporters that this was a 'sounding-off' session and people were there from both sides of the Green Line and the messages were mixed and that no operative conclusions were made.
How does the one state remain Jewish? And if it doesn't remain Jewish, how will it remain safe for Jews?
ReplyDeleteI understand now why the Gaza withdrawal was wrong. And, I think people like you should be allowed to remain in Judea and Samaria if a separate state is created there by the Arabs. But, I have a hard time of seeing how one state will serve Jewish interests in the long run.
I really am just trying to understand how this is workable. I sympathize with the idea, but haven't been able to convince myself that it is practical.
