Holocaust Survivor?

The JPost points out the Holocaust survivor Hedy Epstein, the Gaza protestor and hungerstriker, is not a Holocaust survivor, not strictly one anyway.

For

Epstein was born to a Jewish family in Freiburg, Germany, and in 1939 fled Nazi persecution via the Kindertransport to England.

You think that's wrong?

Check her web site:-

Hedy Epstein (née Wachenheimer) was born August 15, 1924 in Freiburg, Germany. She lived with her parents Ella and Hugo Wachenheimer in Kippenheim, Germany. Her family had lived in Germany for many generations. Both sides of the family originally came from Spain. Hedy's father operated a dry-goods business with his brother. The business had been started by his grandfather Heinrich Wachenheimer in 1858. Hedy's mother was a housewife. Hedy was their only child.

Hedy was 8 years old when Adolf Hitler came to power in Germany on January 30, 1933...On May 18, 1939, Hedy went to England on a children's transport.

Hedy was not in any concentration camps, or labor camps, a death march or even a ghetto.

She has this note there:

Note: My presentations cover serious topics, such as the Nazi period in Europe. Some people in Jewish media have complained that I should not critique Israeli government relations with the Palestinian people because that somehow compares and equates the two situations. Each situation is unique; each must be judged on its own merits and demerits.
Oh, you can criticise, Hedy, just don't you use the Holocaust analogy.

P.S.

This 80+ year old sounds so much more authentic:

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Police detained dozens of anti-Kremlin activists, including an 82-year-old Soviet dissident dressed as Santa Claus' female helper, at a New Year's Eve rally on Moscow's main shopping street Thursday...Soviet-era dissident and rally organiser Lyudmila Alexeyeva, dressed as Snegurochka, Father Frost's female assistant in Russian fairytales, was escorted to a bus by riot police. "I don't know why I was detained... How could I possibly offer any resistance to anyone?" she said, quoted by Echo Moskvy radio, which reported that between 30 and 50 people had been detained.

this reminds me of former congressman Lantos. He walked into a Budapest Wallenberg safe house to avoid the Holocaust. Nevertheless the democratic run media always called him a Holocaust survivor.
He actually was Count Chocula

Sorry Daniel, but by me he's a survivor of the best kind - a resistance fighter/survivor, his marriage notwithstanding

A few years back Hedy was detained and strip-searched for four hours at Ben-Gurion airport. So just know Israel is not above harassing Jewish victims of the Nazis (which she unquestionably is even if you dispute the survivor status).

I was stripped almost all the way down to get in to hear my Prime minister. It happens. Especially if one consorts with terrorists.
