Of course, as there is no JDL this is probably the work of one idiot but as you say, even if he writes poetry, he's dangerous.YMedadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14333122797414935958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7014209.post-72813908372267989662008-04-23T04:02:00.000+03:002008-04-23T04:02:00.000+03:00Here is a picture. You might claim, of course, that it is the Arabs themselves who wrote this...
http://cpt.org/gallery/album109/05_04_21_Gas_the_Arabs

About "terror" standards, I can agree, some. But such actions as kidnapping of Gilad Shalit or killing of Zeevi would have easily been accepted by Irgun or Lehi. Example, the Sergeants affair.

Additionally, one has to consider not only the means - such as suicide bombings, however despicable, - but also the outcome. If I am asleep in my Gaza home and a pilot drops a megaton bomb on me and kills me and my children, I would not give a damn whether he was a kamikaze or an enlightened human being who writes poetry.Peter Drubetskoyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10463750011872829081noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7014209.post-4906427084211415682008-04-21T13:56:00.000+03:002008-04-21T13:56:00.000+03:00Actually I did with Rabin. And that nazi montage was done through the efforts of a GSS agent, don't forget.

"Gas the Arabs"? In nhebron? Got a picture of that?

Sorry, even in "terror" there are standards which no Arab has ever come close to that of the Irgun under begin.YMedadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14333122797414935958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7014209.post-2985352812788329542008-04-18T02:47:00.000+03:002008-04-18T02:47:00.000+03:00Regarding your comment to the Forward (“Any Jew wh...Regarding your comment to the Forward (“Any Jew who could have written that about another was not only 'post' but way past as well”); first, I wonder whether you voiced the same outrage when Rabin and Peres made an appearance in Nazi uniforms. Second, for the life of me I don’t understand the squeamish reluctance to associate such labels as “Fascist” or “Nazi” with Jews. Regardless of how it was appropriate in the context of Einstein’s et al letter, you seem to be opposed to the use of the terms to any Jew, no matter how deserving. I do not see a lot of difference between Jews writing “Gas the Arabs” on the walls in Hebron and the Nazis, for example.

Now to Begin himself. What I conclude from this story is the following. While Etzel under his command was undoubtedly involved in many “terrorist” acts (and such that would have immediately carried a label of “terrorist”, were they committed by, say, the Palestinians against Israel), Begin will always be favorably remembered as the person responsible for not allowing a civil war in the Yishuv during the Saison and for the peace treaty with Egypt. Now, there are people who like to repeat that there are no “moderate” Palestinian leaders, as there are no moderate terrorists and all the Palestinian leaders are terrorists. To what I say: look at Begin and think again.
It was Ben Gurion who was probably the more heinous figure, by the way...Peter Drubetskoyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10463750011872829081noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7014209.post-4224062302088633712008-04-14T08:31:00.000+03:002008-04-14T08:31:00.000+03:00See the comment I left at The Forward hereSee the comment I left at The Forward hereYMedadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14333122797414935958noreply@blogger.com
