build the mishkan, forget about the temple. you shameless millenialist. doesn't shilo mean anything to you? a failed experiment, perhaps? the torah says nothing about a particular piece of land and commands us to build a MOBILE structure where god's presence can dwell. why doesn't anyone get this, it seems so simple.
shilo was destroyed only after the overconfident jews made the walls of the mishkan semi-permanent, thus saying to god in effect "you will no longer lead us, we are putting down roots". same thing with both temples. are people blind or stupid? i just don't get it.
"the place where i will show you"- careful with your hebrew grammar, eugene.
I had an Isru Chag opportunity to survey the area today, with a fine group of fellow "Ascenters". Got to be careful though. Those shoelaces (non-leather footwear), can get you every time. One move towards tying them and you get a full escort off Har HaBayit.
American born, my wife and I moved to Israel in 1970. We have lived at Shiloh together with our family since 1981. I was in the Betar youth movement in the US and UK. I have worked as a political aide to Members of Knesset and a Minister during 1981-1994, lectured at the Academy for National Studies 1977-1994, was director of Israel's Media Watch 1995-2000 and currently, I work at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center in Jerusalem. I was a guest media columnist on media affairs for The Jerusalem Post, op-ed contributor to various journals and for six years had a weekly media show on Arutz 7 radio. I serve as an unofficial spokesperson for the Jewish Communities in Judea & Samaria.
